Nothing Gold Can Stay - Fall Outfit Inspiration

A favorite poem of mine is Robert Frost's Nothing Gold Can Stay. I always think about it in autumn, my favorite season.

Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to greif,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

Today I dressed like my mom.  I wore an outfit I would pick out for her, and honestly I have.  I picked out this shirt for her last week, then she saw how much I liked it and bought me one.  It's been like the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants over at my house between my mom and me, which is cool because our body types are very different.  But now when we go shopping we just buy two of the things we like so that we don't need to mail clothes back and forth while I'm away at college.

This outfit screams fall because of its earthy and rich darker tones.  The shirt is from LOFT and is SO comfy.  I pretty much want to live in it.  The jeans are Eileen Fisher, although this exact pair is no longer for sale.  Eileen Fisher jeans are stretchy and I highly suggest them!  I got this pair from Nordstrom Rack last year.  I paired my look with simple brown oxfords, a fall favorite.  I have owned these shoes for years but always forget to wear them.  Here's a similar pair that is quite inexpensive.  This season I'm making a commitment to get some use out of them!
Special thanks to Kristina for being my personal photographer today!
