One of my favorite things about my wardrobe is that every piece of clothing I wear comes with a story. It makes getting dressed fun and always allows for a quick conversation starter if needed. If you're conscious of what you're bringing into your closet, you're more likely to respect and wear those pieces more. Let me tell you the story behind this simple outfit I have on above. Beanie: This hat is from Krochet Kids and was an exclusive for this year's winter CAUSEBOX. I had eagerly been awaiting my CAUSEBOX at school because I forgot to bring a hat back with me after winter break and my ears had been so chilly in the windy upstate air. It's super cute and comfy, PLUS Krochet Kids is a wonderful organization. This specific hat was made by Oroma Rose, and it's actually signed by her! Shirt & Vest: When I was a freshman in college, I fell pretty hard for a guy. I never told him how I felt and that ship sailed a while back, but someone in his family had this movement called Push Yourself. He was always repping it and one of the other clubs he was a part of did a fundraiser with them that I attended. I entered some raffle there and won this shirt. I was over the moon, let me tell you. Even though him and I never went anywhere, I really like the shirt and the message the organization has to make yourself and/or the world a better place. Anyway…this vest! I think I got it when I was a senior in high school or my first year of college. It's Ralph Lauren and I bought it on sale at Lord & Taylor. It's reversible, so I really got two vests in one, and I wear it all the time. Leggings: Remember those leggings that went viral? They were free, all you had to do was share a link and pay for shipping? These are my Girlfriend Collective leggings. If you Google "Girlfriend Collective", their site pops up at the top with the heading: Leggings For People Who Care. GC makes all of their leggings and bras out of recycled bottles, which is pretty damn cool. These leggings keep you looking tight and are oh so flattering. I really love how detailed their "About" page is and feel that the company is extremely genuine. Socks & Shoes: I ADORE these new sneakers I bought from Allbirds as a gift to myself. I've known about Allbirds since before they were popular because a really good friend of mine had a pair and told me about them. He always would wear them and rave about how comfortable they were, so I finally caved and got a pair (and a pair for my dad for the holidays!). These wool runners are awesome. As a fiber science major, I've learned all about the benefits of wool (natural fiber, wicking, sustainable, etc.) and can confirm that these are great shoes with and without socks. But if we're doing socks…I've got my Bombas ones on! Bombas gives a pair of socks to the homeless for every pair bought. Plus…everyone's favorite Disney heartthrob, Zac Efron, was featured in their newest ad campaign. Thanks for reading! Does your outfit tell a story?
