Holiday 2016 Gift Guide

I am not one who cares much for material things, but recently a few items have caught my eye and for the first time in a few years, I have a gift wish list!  These items I really love and would definitely fit right in with my life.  Hopefully you find the perfect gift on this list for someone you love!

Let My People Go Surfing - $20.00

As anyone who knows me knows, Patagonia is one of my favorite brands.  I love a good book, especially one about a social entrepreneur, and this one has been on my list for awhile.  Also on my reading list is Blake Mycoskie's Start Something that Matters.

National Park Edition Jenga - $19.95

To celebrate the centennial of the National Park Service, REI is selling "National Park Editions" of a few games.  AND THEY HAVE JENGA.  WITH NATIONAL PARK FACTS ON THE BLOCKS.  Must I say more?  This is my DREAM game.

Warby Parker ZZZZZ Mask - $15.00

It's no surprise that I love Warby Parker and obsess over them on a regular basis/do all my school projects on them.  Little known fact about me: I sleep with an eye mask religiously.  I'm pretty sure I own five already and they all just get lost in my bedding or the elastic stretches out because I wear them so frequently.  I actually have to wear an eye mask because my eyes open up while I sleep sometimes and then the light wakes me up, so with this mask I can stay true to sleeping with my eyes open but actually be able to snooze peacefully.

Veja Esplar Sneaker - $120.00

Full disclosure, already bought these for myself.  I was in need of a new pair of casual sneakers since a pair of seven-year-old Converse I had finally bit the dust.  Veja is a super cool brand that stresses sustainability and Amour Vert (the retailer I bought the shoes from) sells all sustainable fashion.  I can't wait to wear these sneaks!!!

Centennial Raglan T-Shirt - $30.00

Yes, I love National Parks - you get it.  I also love baseball tees!  Saw this shirt and I just know I'll live in it!  I try to only buy items I know I'll get a lot of use out of, and this is one that I will wear until it's full of holes.

Smart Umbrella - $17.99

I always love to look through the gift guide released by The Container Store.  It must be the "J" in my ESFJ personality that loves organization and everything The Container Store sells.  This year they have these cool "smart" umbrellas.  No, they don't connect to your phone…they just are shaped differently to allow you to be more covered and to hold the handle better!  They also claim that they won't turn inside out with a strong wind – which is needed in Ithaca!

Kiva Gift Set - $89.00

Kiva has been a love of mine for over six years now.  The microloan web platform has grown so much in that time and one of my favorite promotions they would do was with Novica right before Mother's Day.  I used to buy my mom beautiful jewelry from Kiva artisans and she always loved it!  Just this past week Kiva announced a website that would act as a marketplace for these artisans!  Check out this lovely gift set that comes with stunning handmade jewelry and photo frame, as well as a $20 Kiva card that can be used to make loans!  Kiva cards make great gifts if you're not interested in a whole set!
