Today we had the chance to do some sight-seeing around Bangalore. We started our day at the Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum. Like most science-y museums, this one had a lot of interactive exhibits that were entertaining, no matter your age. After about an hour or so, we met back up and made our way to Commercial Street, a shopping destination in Bangalore. It was bustling with street vendors and shoppers, there was so much to look at! Unfortunately, we only had a couple hours to walk around. We ended our evening at a dinner with our host. All of us dressed up in sarees and added flowers to our hair, something we found out Indian women do in lieu of perfume. One of our faculty members on the trip got ahold of a guitar and sang some crowd favorites such as "Wonderwall" and "Sweet Caroline" while we all gathered around and joined in.
Eventually, we went back to where we were staying and began the scavenger hunt to remove all the safety pins that held together our sarees before heading to bed for the night. |
