Day ten we both did everything and nothing…we started the day with a site visit and then departed mid-day to begin our journey to Erode, a city south of Bangalore. Our site visit was to Bureau Veritas, an international quality testing facility. They have multiple locations in India, including ones in Bangalore and Tirupur. Bureau Veritas was most similar to the office visits I did in China, and it definitely had the most "corporate" environment of all of our visits. We were not allowed to take any photos inside, so I don't actually have any photos from this day. We toured the testing facilities, seeing both new machines and familiar machines that we have in our department at school. Bureau Veritas tests clothing, handbags, shoes, belts, and other similar items. They can be involved in the whole production process. Though Bureau Veritas checks standards, they cannot consult or recommend anything to their customers. In the early afternoon, we were notified that we would be moving to our next town earlier than originally planned. We went back to our hotel and packed our bags before embarking on a seven hour drive to our next location, Erode. Here's our bomb bus driver, Sundar, and our party bus. We stopped midway on the drive to have dinner at McDonald's (America!). We finally reached our hotel around 1:30 AM.
