In January when I was home for winter break, I watched a LOT of HGTV on Netflix. I decided to put all I learned into practice and redo my bedroom. I've lived in the same room my whole life and I chose "Sammy's Purple" as the paint color when I was seven and have had to live with that decision ever since. I decided to repaint my room since I had wanted to for awhile and I rearranged it too. Check out the new look below! I painted my room "Funky Fruit" by Benjamin Moore. The fabric with the birds became my inspiration piece and I used about 2 yards (I think) of it to make a large pillow case that fit two big square pillows. I don't like using pillows much so I am able to take the large double pillow and place it against the wall on the side of my bed when I go to sleep. I typically only sleep on a small pillow (featured at the front on my pillow stack) and with the little remnants of fabric I had left, I was able to make a small case for it as well. My wall right next to my closet is a bit bare at the moment but features four Puzzler Boards by Umbra that I get good use out of, as well as a poster that I had gotten as a promotional item somewhere. I have plans to frame it and create more of a gallery wall with a few other larger photographs I have. I'll update this post if I ever get around to changing that!
The bird art is from Ikea, although I cannot find it online any more. The picture ledge is also from Ikea! Gosh, don't you just LOVE Ikea? My duvet cover is from the brand Anthropology and I bought it at Bed, Bath & Beyond. I love it because it's feminine, classic, and chambray is pretty much a neutral. I hope you love my new room as much as I do! Let me know if you have any questions below :) |
